I began my journalism career in 2008 working as a Junior Reporter and then Senior Reporter on the news desk at Johnston Press subsidiary Premier Newspapers. Titles worked for included the Luton News, Dunstable Gazette, Herald & Post and Leighton Buzzard Observer. Working on a lively news patch, I cut my teeth knocking doors, attending crime scenes, covering court stories and attending inquests. During my time at Johnston Press, I interviewed a number of top politicians including Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband, David Miliband, Vince Cable, Harriet Harman and Ken Clarke.
I moved on to be an Online Reporter at the MailOnline in 2012, then the world's most visited news website. Making the transition from local to international news was a challenge and involved working long and often anti-social hours. While there, I worked on a number of high profile stories including the 2013 Glasgow helicopter crash, the death of Nelson Mandela, Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement from football management and the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's son, Prince George.
